During the report, Academician Li Xinmin discussed the role of traditional medicine in mental health, highlighting how the application of AI technology in global healthcare has significantly improved the efficiency of diagnosis, treatment, and clinical decision-making. He shared three case studies on the integration of AI and traditional medicine in mental health: AI with mindfulness meditation, AI-assisted early warning for mental illnesses, and AI promoting the standardization of traditional medicine. Additionally, using traditional Chinese herbs such as safflower and ginseng as examples, he analyzed the adjunctive role of traditional Chinese medicine in treating mental disorders. Finally, Academician Li explored the current state of AI applications in global healthcare, comparing the status of traditional medicine in Canada, India, Africa, North America, and China. He emphasized the advantages and prospects of integrating AI, big data, and both traditional Chinese and Western medicine to advance global healthcare development and mental health.

During the interactive session, Academician Li Xinmin engaged with faculty and students in a discussion on the differences between the healthcare systems in Canada and China, as well as the application of AI technology in medicine in both countries. He encouraged young researchers to think critically when selecting research topics, avoid blindly following trends, and develop their own independent perspectives.

In conclusion, Secretary Hua Weiguo welcomed Academician Li Xinmin to Southeast University for the outstanding lecture and presented him with a cultural souvenir featuring the logo of the School of Life Science and Technology at Southeast University.
